About Us

Natural World Psychotherapy

Imagine the freedom of sitting under a tree or gazing at the sky, releasing mental tension and finding peace. That’s what we’re about at Natural World Psychotherapy.

Through the practice of ecotherapy, we promote healing and well-being through connecting with the natural world while fostering a deeper respect for the environment.

Our holistic approach looks beyond symptoms, addressing your emotional, mental, spiritual, physical and ecological well-being in harmony with the natural world.

We understand the impact of world suffering and the effect this may have on our wellbeing, as we believe in this interconnectivity with all beings within the ecosystem. Our services combine environmental awareness with mental well-being, offering an empathic, non-judgmental, safe and welcoming space for all.

We pride ourselves on being adaptable and inclusive and are committed to understanding the complexities of people living with chronic and acute illness. We believe nature can sooth and support you while dealing with illness.

As a fully qualified ecotherapsist and psychotherapist and a proud member of the Australian Counselling Association (ACA) and Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia (PACFA), we are guided by their Code of Ethics while creating a supportive, approachable and nurturing environment.

Authenticity, care, and integrity are part of everything we do at Natural World Psychotherapy. Our mission is to help individuals connect with the natural world, providing a supportive space for growth and self-discovery. Guided by Rachael’s passion and commitment to empowering others, therapy becomes a meaningful journey toward personal transformation.

OUR MISSION

“Promoting healing, transformation and belonging through deepened connection to self and the earth.”

Meet Rachael Morritt

Founder of Natural World Psychotherapy

Rachael Morritt is a passionate ecotherapist and psychotherapist, and a proud mother of two. Her love of the great outdoors has spanned over 35 years. Originally from Nottingham, England, where she completed her Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Counselling and Psychotherapy at the Sherwood Psychotherapy Training Institute. Rachael has travelled the world and now calls Sydney home.

She lives in gratitude for all the experiences and life changing moments experienced along the way connecting with people, cultures, animals and nature. Her personal journey through chronic illness and the healing benefits she felt spending time in nature has inspired her path to become an ecotherapist. Rachael is in awe of the natural world and all the teachings it has offered her along the way. This has inspired her to practice ecotherapy and help others in their healing journey through connection with nature.

Rachael’s Qualifications

Tapping into the Healing Power of Nature

Driven by her commitment to showcasing nature’s profound therapeutic potential, Rachael completed her ecotherapist certification through the International Training in Applied Ecopsychology with IES (International Ecopsychology Society). Deepening her connection with Mother Nature, she discovered a profound reciprocal relationship with nature that opened her eyes to the suffering of our world. This awakening inspired her to pursue the online Active Hope training program, specialising in supporting others through their own environmental grief to transform collective pain into purposeful hope and meaningful action.

Inspired by nature’s wisdom, Rachael finds joy in guiding others to connect with the earth and experience the profound healing that nature offers. Rachael believes that through this connection people find hope, healing and balance beginning through a closer connection to the natural world. Her approach promotes a nurturing relationship between people and the environment, creating opportunities for personal growth, creativity and ecological awareness.
